Hi all.
We anticipate once all the advertising avenues are launched the forum will (hopefully) get quite busy.
Which is why the requests are going out now for anybody interested in becoming a forum moderator to come forward and contact us.
The roles we need:
1. General forum moderator - currently needing at least 5 moderators
If we can get a few general moderators the workload is far lighter for all. Filling this position effectively needs a reasonable understanding of the nMRCGP. The people we are after are those who are interested in teaching, education and GP training. In addition this group need to have regular internet access available, and be able to provide some 'on-line' time every 48 hours, most of the time.
Via this role the group will have perfect practice to be future Deanery/AiT representatives. This experience will come not only from absorbing knowledge of the nMRCGP when seeking responses to queries, but also by developing invaluable contacts with Deanery/RCGP staff when needing to obtain clarification on questions which are not clearly answered in the official documents. And, as we know, being a Deanery rep is a big CV stocking filler.
This will be a more labour intensive role than the VTS specific moderators as the priorities are slightly different. This group of moderators will be the leads in answering questions and directing discussions and so will have to have a better understanding of the nMRCGP training programme, as well as have the official documents to hand in order to support answers with references wherever possible.
On occasion when the RCGP documents are unable to answer queries, the general moderators will need to contact appropriate Deanery/RCGP staff for clarification.
i) Lead in answering/responding to queries in the general nMRCGP threads.
This may involve researching official guidance provided by the RCGP and/or contacting RCGP staff for responses.
ii) Keep an eye on the boards for posts breaking the rules
iii) Flagging up any threads in inappropriate boards
2. VTS specific moderator
Ideally we need one moderator for each of the VTS rotations in the country. Roles in order of priority will be:
i) Inform and keep members of their VTS updated on the presence and use of gpboard.com. To bring to the forum any queries raised in weekly VTS meetings to be discussed.
ii) Chair any points of discussion which are raised in the rotation-specific thread for that particular VTS
iii) Provide whatever support possible in answering/responding to queries in any of the more general threads
iv) Keep an eye on the boards for posts breaking the rules
v) Flagging up any threads in inappropriate boards
One person can be both General Moderator as well as VTS moderator but it would be preferable to have a different person for each.
If you feel you could fulfil either role, please e-mail us on
admin@gpboard.com telling us your name/grade/VTS and the role you'd like to take up.
Thanks,
AM
